Significant time has passed since I last wrote something worth sharing. What an unfamiliar world we find ourselves in. Not only did I find myself with zero time to indulge in musing about the various aspects of life, but also found myself confronted by sides of myself that have rarely reared their ugly heads - and I didn't like what I saw or who I was.
So I've been working on myself. Coming to terms with my anger and frustration. Finding ways to channel my gregarious, free spirit in a world that doesn't currently want or value those traits right now. I am turning the corner and I can see new possibilities ahead on the horizon.
And I am finally reawakening to the signs and messages that the earth offers everyday if you are willing to recognize and receive them. A poignant sunrise a few days ago stopped me in my tracks and I immediately felt inspired to write some words to my family. After sending them, I realized they were worth sharing with all of you.
Keep your aerials up and your heart and spirit open. You will be amazed by the messages of love, peace and hope that the world sends out each day.
The World is Still Well!
I walked out the other morning before the sun had peaked above the eastern tree line.
I was greeted with a single golden column of light shooting straight up to the heavens. I stared in awe and wonder and said in a whisper “Good morning God. I see you.”
I continued to gaze upon this beam of light - and realized that at its base, was a single majestic oak tree, whose branches and delicate, aging leaves were waving salutations to the new day. My eyes then caught a movement in the newly cut hay field in front of this majestic oak and as I focused my gaze, I observed two tall Sandhill Cranes standing side by side in the field, spreading their wings wide to the coming sun.
I thought to myself, “the world is still well. We are ok. The universe is still holding us in its embrace.”
And I thought of what my grandparents always said for as long as I can remember....
